Once More Upon That Calvary Cross

Lord, take me
Use me as you will
To spread the good word
Both near and far
However you may wish it
To be heard
Allow me
To be for you
That ultimate vessel

Jesus, I want to live
Only for you
In you
Embrace your way
Your light
Yesterday, tomorrow and today
For all eternity
To be one with you
It's the most wonderful thing
I can dream of
In my life

Savior, tear me
From Satan's cruel side
Redeem me and save me
Show me your glory
Guide me
Along your righteous path
Cause I want to sin
No more
I wish only
From this moment
On my knees before you
To give it all
My heart and soul
Yours to do with
As you will
Once more upon that calvary cross

When I was angry with God

Placing a grain of sand in my hand
I thought if I were
this grain of sand
dropped on the beach
I could never be found.
In this universe I am less
than a grain of sand,
I am infinitesimal
and I have been found
because I Am.

Peace

Remembering you
forgetting me
I take my first step
to being free:
Free of pain,
free of sorrow,
free of fear
about tomorrow.
Jesus the alive
Jesus who died
Jesus with whom
we are crucified
pours on me
sweat, blood, tears-
I’m dripping wet
with love.

Bruce Mundhenke- A Poem

Song of Oneness

In a moment of desperation,
I asked the Lord Jesus for aid,
And He opened my eyes to beauty,
And the oneness of everything.
And in that moment of truth and joy
I watched the Spirit sing.

Barbara Gordon- A Poem

LITTLE GIRL’S DREAM

Early one morning, I guess around three
Our little girl cried out for her Daddy and me
We rushed to her room and knelt at her bedside
She was trembling and scared, here’s what she cried.

“Daddy oh Daddy, I just had a dream!
Please hold me close Daddy and tell me what it means!
I was in Heaven and I found Mommy there,
But I couldn’t find you Daddy and I looked everywhere!”

“I ran to the gate and you where down on your knees,
Begging and crying, “Lord, let me in please!”
I turned and ask Jesus, “Please take one more look!”
With tears in his eyes, he showed me his book.

“Can’t you see Daddy; the Lord wants you to know,
When I go to heaven, he wants you to go!
So come to church with us and join us in prayer,
So when I get to Heaven I know you’ll be there!”

Where Feet May Fail

Oceans deep
Mountains high
No matter how far away
He is always
Close at hand
To hold you up
Won't let you fall down
Heaven always stops
The burning of Hell's fires

He will step up
To lift you up
Whenever you're feelin' low
Too low
To go on
When you think
You just can't take it anymore
There He will be
To say
Oh yes you can!

Seek and ye shall find
He's whenever
Wherever you need Him to be
Your father
Your savior
In the spirit
And the flesh
On Him
You can always depend
No doubt about it
Where feet may fail
God never will

Donal Mahoney- A Poem

After Christmas

You’re glad when
the holidays are over
and everyone’s gone home

and the ribbons and wrappings
are balled up in the garbage.
Next year it won’t be a bother

after they drop the lid
and six men wobble you out
to the greensward where your

family cries as you’re lowered.
Never again will you worry
about finding the right gift or

putting the right star on the tree
or getting folks to church on time.
But if He’s not waiting

to greet you on the other side
what will you do, pray tell,
about the one who is.

Mary Bone- Three Poems

Mary Bone has been writing poetry since the age of twelve and has had poems published in newspapers, journals, magazines and online blogs. Her most recent poem accepted for publication will be in the July/August issue of Oklahoma Today Magazine.

Compassion

I had compassion on my fellow man,
And now I’m trying to help him, any way I can.
I know our dear Jesus had compassion on me,
While hanging on the tree.
As He looked down through the ages,
And visualized me.
Who am I, that He would love me so,
And have such compassion long ago?
That love continues. “Why?” I do not know.

His Majesty

His majesty flows from sea to sea.
His greatness is reflected in the faces of you and me.
His majesty deserves our praise,
All the length of our days.

A Hateful Society

I’m trying to relate
In a society of hate.
It makes my teeth grate,
Only God knows our fate.
