Witness
when I consider the names
and place cards, the words
spoken by the leaders,
I want to be rekindle that old flame
but mingle it with my new experience,
inviting God into today,
not seeing him as I did yesterday
but embracing a new kind of life
with him by my side, being sure
that my words, thoughts, and acts
somehow show a pale glimpse
of heaven's work inside.
